We showed you spy shots a few weeks back, but Ducati has now pulled the veil off the Panigale V4 R ahead of this week’s Milan EICMA motorcycle show. Packing a stunning WSBK-legal 998cc Desmosedici Stradale R V4 with trickest Öhlins suspension all wrapped up in a glorious Ducati Corse aero package, V4 R is ready to take on the world propelled by Ducati’s 90° V4 canted 42° rearward from the horizontal for optimal packaging, while its the two left-hand cylinders fire closely together and the right-hand cylinders do the same. 

Add a 1100g lighter new forged steel, counter-rotating crankshaft, 100g lighter con-rods and a lofty 14:1 compression ratio; increased lift titanium intake and steel exhaust valves fed by 56mm equivalent oval throttle bodies by air cleaned through a free-flowing Sprintfilter. The 162 kW 112Nm machine revs to 16000 rpm and shifts to sixth gear at 16500rpm in sixth gear, but a full-racing Akrapovic exhaust ups power to 172 kW.

Blessed with an Öhlins 43 mm NPX 25/30 fork and TTX36 shock with braking courtesy braking of Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers in a lighter, stiffer Ducati Corse chassis with  height adjustable swingarm pivot, V4 R is fully track focused on the track. Braking is courtesy of Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers all wrapped up by an aero package developed by Ducati Corse in conjunction with the Ducati Style Centre.
