Now Amarok gets a Dark Label

Zamalek to those who know it, is the nickname of among Mzansi’s most popular beers, but now Volkswagen has put a new twist on that as it too enters the South African bakkie special edition bunfight with this new Dark Edition Amarok. Uitenhage promises dramatic styling to differentiate the 132kW 420Nm Zamalek - sorry - Dark Label from the rest of the Amarok range to celebrate over 30 000 Amaroks sold in South Africa since launch in 2010

Based on the Amarok 4Motion Auto, Dark Label gets a black grille locally-sourced MAXE matte black styling bar with ’Amarok‘ lettering, door handles and exterior mirrors in matt black, tinted rear windows, blacked-out B-pillars, black side sills, ’Dark Label‘ décor film on the sides, smoked taillights and new 18-inch ’Rawson‘ alloy wheels. Inside you will find black ’Greenhouse‘ headlining, Vienna leather seats, silk glance chrome air vent borders and floor mats embroidered with ‘Dark Label‘ lettering continue the design theme of this special model.

Dark Label also carries Amarok’s flagship bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, front and rear park distance control, tyre pressure monitor, ’Plus‘ multi-function on-board computer, ’Composition Media‘ infotainment system, app-connect with voice control and multi-function steering wheel. Add off-road ESC and Volkswagen’s award-winning Automatic Post-Collision Braking.

Dark Label options include seat heating, an increased GVM heavy duty suspension, climatronic air-conditioning, ’Discover Media‘ infotainment system with Satnav ) as well as rubber floor covering for the cab and passenger compartment. Amarok Dark Label 2.0 BiTDI 132kW 4Motion Auto  will set ou back R674K with standard with 3 year/100 000km warranty, and a 5 year/90 00 km Service Plan at 15000km intervals.
